Kasabian 08/07/2012

Sunday night, the last night of T in the Park and everyone was buzzing for Kasabian to give a spectacular ending to an amazing weekend. Me, Adam and Dan all stood on our own, we'd  lost the rest of the group before Elbow - some wanted to see Nicki Minaj, some wanted to go to the lockers, but we needed to get a good place for Kasabian, and where's better than center front?

People pushing from the back resulted in me and Dan getting pushed up against the barrier where we earned a  rightful place just a few feet away from these legends. Tom Meighan walks on stage full of confidence with charisma that echoed throughout the whole of the field, he tilts his shoulders from side to side before stepping up to the MIC and greeting us all like old friends, in return we all cheer in the glory of Kasabian.

Kicking off with 'Days Are Forgotten' it's simple to see why these legends were asked to close such a huge event. From 'Days Are Forgotten' we are pushed into 'Shoot The Runner', there is no stopping Kasabian once every one of us begin singing that infamous tagline. At first I am not responding to Meighan, he's cocky and arrogant - it seems as though he is trying too hard to steal Liam Gallagher's showmanship, but once Sergio dances himself around the stage Meighan feels comfortable with letting himself be himself, making himself known as a great frontman.

The energy coming from the stage is unbelievable, even the green coats (you know, the people who hand out water) took out their ear plugs, craned their neck around to the stage to see what all the fuss was about. The crowd never stopped singing, the encore was long awaited for when the band walked off stage in a wave of glory. And after the encore they stick around for a bit, almost throwing everything  that is on the stage into the crowd, Sergio jumps down to greet us all and Tom steps up to the MIC to leave us with one more song; 'She Loves You'. I feel that I was the only one who sang it all the way through with him, maybe I was just singing that loudly, who knows?
I would have paid the £200 just to see Kasabian. They were mind blowing.
