He Bangs The Drums

Never has a drummer been more suited to a band since John Bonham joined Led Zeppelin way back in '68. Reni has never been given the credit that he deserves, and for someone who doesn't drum I sometimes feel as though I'm the only person who can see that Reni is one of the most fantastic drummers to ever bestow the music scene.

I grant you, if you're just sat back listening to the Stone Roses then the first thing you notice is Squire's brilliant guitar work, but once you notice the drums you can never stop noticing, after a while Reni grips you into his world and won't let you go and, after a while, you will find yourself worshiping the ground he walks on.
 I love that whenever you watch live videos of him he is hides his face under that bucket hat, sways his head from side to side whilst his arms seem to be going off in there own direction, with a few flicks of his wrists he creates any Roses song a masterpiece.

If there were ever an underrated drummer pole Reni would get the top spot, he drums like he's in a marching band yet at the same time he adds a euphoric rhythm to it which has the attention of anyone's stomach butterflies, making each one of those buggers flapping madly whenever one of his sticks swipes the cymbals.

All hail Alan 'Reni' Wren.

Feast your ears on this;
