Ah yes, I'm well and truly jumping on the 'Submarine' bandwagon, what of it?
But seriously, it is an amazing film. I love films that have no amazing drama in them, like Quadrophenia or Trainspotting - Indie films, my all time favourite genre. And the soundtrack to this is one of my all time favourite film soundtracks.
Alex Turner has conceived such a beautiful little album, I was never really into Arctic Monkeys all that much and I thought that Turner was massively overrated, that was until I gave this album a listening to. To have Alex Turner on his own with an acoustic guitar or piano is a beautiful thing, the innocence in his voice and lyrics make me feel like I'm Oliver Tate, a kid hardly in his teens and in love.
Yes, most of the songs sounds the same, but who cares? I just love laying down and listening to this album, it creates an unstoppable smile on my face. 'It's Hard To Get Around The Wind' gives me shivers each time I listen to it, 'Hiding Tonight' reminds me of my first boyfriend. I can relate to all of the songs, and guess what? They're all great memories that are spurred from a great album.
