I've got a love for this band, whenever I feel like tearing up the world the Sex Pistols are there to help me do it. What a band, just four lads from the south of England who couldn't play an instrument to save their lives, but they bloody well made it work didn't they? But it wasn't about the music with these guys, it was about their message which is still blaring strong these days, as Johnny Rotten stands center stage in 'God Save The Queen' shouting tunefully down the MIC the fury that every working class kid was feeling in the seventies, even now, in this current day and age, we can relate to the lyrics and their anger.
As I said above, they couldn't play an instrument to save their lives, but to be honest I think they just used the instruments as something to batter whilst they were on stage, and luckily enough for them it came out, sort of, in tune. I love it, I love the passion that Johnny Rotten has in his voice, I love how Sid Vicious stands on the side with his legs parted as far as they can go, how Paul Cook sits behind his drums and just thrashes out on them and I love how Steve Jones dances about on stage.
And now what do we have of the Sex Pistols? Johnny Rotten selling butter, Sid Vicious will be turning in his grave.
