Brits 2013

Usually I enjoy more award shows but every year for the past 3 years the Brits has just annoyed me even more than the previous year. I don't feel as though it is a celebration of good British music, more like just the popular music. Does anyone remember a time when good music and popular music were the same thing?
What happened?

But, to be fair, I think Ben Howard was a deserved winner, and a modest one. He's a brilliant musician and his simple acoustic set was hauntingly beautiful, it was the best performance of the night, for me, and what made it better was that he didn't feel the need to put on a huge show like Taylor Swift and One Direction did - he didn't need anything to hide the fact that his music is terrible like the others did, maybe this is because his music is far from terrible.

I'm not sure if I'll be watching the Brits next year, I just feel disappointed with British music every time that I do. It just pisses me off, to put it simply.
Ah well, let's see what happens next year...
