Day 1...
Who was our first act that I saw? Well that was a young man called Benjamin Francis Leftwich - a bit of a mouthful to say but I liked him. We managed to catch the last song of his set, so there isn't much that I can say about him - but I couldn't wait to get home and listen to more of his work.
Devlin was a pile of rubbish - I'm not a fan of rap music and Devlin basically sums up why, no talent, no musical quality and no charisma - there weren't many people in the crowd impressed either, I think I heard someone say "What is this shit?" behind me.
Who came next? Well it was none other than Miles Kane. It was a huge difference from seeing him at Middlesbrough Empire. It seemed a struggle for him to keep the attention of everyone in the crowd, I love Miles Kane and yet my attention was distracted by an inflated condom floating in the sky, maybe it was the suit? I saw him with a pair of leopard print trousers on and the red just didn't do it for me. But he was good, I can't say I enjoyed it thoroughly but on a musical level he was on his game - shouting his songs, tunefully, across the festival it was hard not to appreciate that Miles Kane is a fantastic musician - saving rock and roll for us all.
Maximo Park were a surprise for me, listening to their recorded stuff I've never really been impressed by them, but I find that this happens with some bands; I love them live. I was pretty happy that I wasn't getting crushed anymore because we decided to stand at the side, I got a good view and I could properly take in everything that was happening - it was pretty great. Paul Smith makes an amazing front man, he has the charm and charisma that is able to hold the attention of thousands of drunken people standing in a very large car park. I enjoyed it immensely and I thought that Maximo Park were going to be the act that I would be wanting to be over as soon as possible.
From Maximo Park we move onto Dizzee Rascal. Can I remember anything about it? Not anything about the music, I was too busy concentrating on not dying, all us girls pulled together and had to hold hands so that we could keep track of each other. In the end we had to get out of there, I ended up enjoying Dizzee from a far off few as I sat down and hid from the rain - not to my taste but everyone else enjoyed him.

Day 2...
Rizzle Kicks - another surprise for me. Would I have them on my ipod? Don't be silly, I'd never listen to them out of choice but they created a great buzz throughout the crowd - I even knew two of theirs songs, I also even sang along and danced! They were good, I enjoyed them very much so. But saying that, I wouldn't pay to see them especially just because they're too... 'pop' for me.Ah; Noah and the Whale - my favourite act. I'd never been interested in them before the weekend; I knew that one song that everyone knows - 'Fun' I think it's called. They were so calm, but people still made mosh pits to them, which I found incredibly strange. But it was proper festival music, music that had everyone calm and smiling - I don't think I saw anyone wearing a frown in that crowd, they were fantastic.
Deadmau5! The headliner of our last night at Evo. I was kind of looking forward to Deadmau5 because of how much his music had been drilled into us during Music Tech. I genuinely liked him, he created a euphoric feel with a tinge of heavy club dance, I even raved a little - well, a lot. The stars were out, everyone was enjoying themselves and the music made you feel like you were on top of the world, what could be better? Oh, I know - that fact that a mouse is one of the most clever DJ's I've ever heard (and trust me, I've heard a lot), he did an amazing job of keeping and switching styles, it was mega - honestly, I'd go and see him again. Though it did end up getting to the point where when we though he'd ended he start off with a new chapter in his set, which would be followed by me groaning and then lifting up my hand to keep on dancing. Good stuff.
So... anyone fancy Evolution 2013?
