Michael Jackson - Thriller
As it's Halloween I thought we could have a little fun listening to Halloween-y songs! But let's face it, this is one of those classics that will just live on forever. Michael Jackson at his best, musically, lyrically and also fashionably, of course. That opening synthesiser (that isn't actually shown in the above version) that powerfully grabs hold of your attention is the best use of a synthesiser ever (apart from in Baba O' Riley), I'm not a huge fan of the synth but that stab of an introduction gives a good reason to why the synthesiser should be loved.
The music is some cheesey 80's pop beat that was very popular at the time so you can't blame Jackson for getting swept away with it, though it does have a funky bass synth in there that creates an easy tune to get into your head. It's the delivery which sets it away from the rest of the songs that were storming up the charts. It's a fantastic piece of music and should be what Michael Jackson is remembered for, it shows his true genius.
