Song of the day. 11/10/2011

The Smiths - This Charming Man.
Probably one of the more uplifting songs by the Smiths and also the reason why I picked up the guitar. That opening riff has had me hooked on the song since I first ever heard it a few years back, it sets off the bar that this is going to be one of those brilliant classics of songs that only emerge every so often. It just proves Marr's genius as guitarist and writer of music which compliments Morrissey's moaning vocals and sudden outbursts of pleasured screams. "I would go out tonight, but I haven't got a stitch to wear" words we have all felt at one time and although it is such an obvious line it is brilliant that Morrissey even came up with something like it, kudos to you Morrissey and kudos to Marr, Rourke and Joyce.
